When you buy a new or used iPhone, you may be wondering how reliable are refurbished iPhones. Now, this is how you can tell the origin of an iPhone. Note that the model number of the device must be handy when it comes to checking if the iPhone is new or refurbished.

You must have in mind that when you buy a refurbished iPhone from Apple, you will not expect it to be the same thing with the one you bought from the carrier, even though they both devices are certified.

If the model number of the iPhone  starts with  (M) , then know that it is a New iPhone, but if the model number  starts with (F) just no that it’s a carrier refurbished model, then it starts with the letter (N), it is shown to be an Apple Refurbishment device. This is not the same model number that you always find at the back of your iPhone which always starts with the letter ( A).

Finding the model number is very easy. Just tap on the SettingGeneralAbout and then scroll down to the Model Section. After that, the setting will bring out the nine-digit model number that you can use to determine the origin of the iPhone. On the newest iPhone like iPhone 8 and even higher, you can even find the model number at the Sim tray slot.

CARRIER REFURBISHED iPhone:

Like I said earlier the Apple-certified refurbished iPhone is different from the carrier certified refurbished model, but is always very easy to get confused easily about the two. In the case of a carrier – refurbished model, always have in mind that the model number starts with the letter  (F), the carrier itself manages the Refurbishment process.

-Repackaged including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes.
