HMD has finally launched the global version of the Nokia X7 which is the Nokia 8.1 smartphone in the Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) at an event. The company made the phone available just as expected. However, there’s no news about the Nokia 3.1 Plus and the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Instead, they pay much attention to the Nokia 8.1 smartphone. The Nokia 8.1 will be the successor of the Nokia 7 Plus. The phone features a premium body design with a decent hardware and it’s powered by the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

The body is built with a metallic material and a glass frame to bring a premium look. The Nokia 8.1 packs the latest display technology called PureView display by HMD. It offers a screen size of 6.18-inch IPS LCD screen with a notch up front and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio.  The display produces an FHD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and it reaches up to 86.5-percent screen ratio. The display also features a 96-percent NTSC color gamut, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR video playback, 1500:1 contrast ratio and lastly 500nits of brightness for your viewing pleasure.

Nokia 8.1

The hardware on the inside includes a 10nm based Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB which is expandable via micro SD card. The camera setup on the inside is a combo sensor on the back that consists of 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor paired with aa 13MP depth sensor. It also features Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization, dual PDAF, AI scene detection and optimization for low-light photos. On the front, you will get a single camera of 20MP on the notch for both selfies and video calls. The Nokia 8.1 is fueled by a nonremovable battery capacity of 3500mAh with a quick charge. Other features on the phone include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nokia 8.1 is now available in Dubai and you can buy the phone at an affordable price segment.
The official price of Nokia 8.1 is 399 Euros and will go on sale in the UAE on December 15 and other parts of the Middle East on December 20.  It will be available in Blue Silver, Steel Copper and Iron Steel colors. You can buy the Nokia 8.1 at a price of 1,700 AED in UAE.
